I got a call yesterday from the dealer about the 2020 TRD Pro I ordered back in October 2019. Of course, he said “I have some good news, and some not so good news.”
The good news is that it is scheduled to be built on February 11. Then it is set to depart from Japan on February 19 and will arrive in the US around March 19. I’ll be able to take possession of it sometime in April.
The bad news is that they are not giving me options to forgo some add-ons that I really do not want or want to pay for, such as the running boards and the rear cargo slider. The sales guy told me that Toyota is giving dealers less flexibility when they order vehicles, especially ones like the TRD Pro that are subject to limited availability.
What does this mean for me? A couple of features that I really don’t want that will cost me a few more bucks. Not the end of the world. Maybe I can take the parts off and sell them. Kind of a hassle, but again, not the end of the world.
