I\u2019ve been waffling on putting an awning on my 4Runner for a while. I never had one on my 3rd<\/sup> Gen, however I did buy a Slumberjack Roadhouse Tarp a few years ago thinking it would meet my needs for camping, but I never took it out of the bag. It just seemed a bit too cumbersome to set up by myself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There was a post on one of the many Facebook groups I follow that alerted me to a sale at napaonline.com where they were selling their Maxi Trac awning for $90, shipping included. I heard good things about these awnings and the price point was right for me to give it a try.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I thought I\u2019d try the awning out on my 5th<\/sup> Gen since that is the one I typically take to the beach, which is where I could use some protection from the sun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here is the video I shot showing how I installed the awning on my Southern Style OffRoad (SSO) aftermarket roof rack (click the image below for the video).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019ve used the awning on a few trips now and am pleasantly surprised. For the money, it is every bit as good as some of the name brand awnings that cost 3 or 4 times more.
